find this image quite hilarious since it relates to Freud and is presented in a handful amount of stories I’ve read during my FIQWS class. Freud describes the phallic phase as part of the psychosexual stages of development, also each child has to go through these stages in order to be a functioning adult. A child in the phallic stage, a boy more specifically are discovering their genitals and learning about pleasuring themselves. It is possible that their source of pleasure is the opposite sex, for instance, their mom. However, the boy feels threatened when a same-sex parent, the father is together with their object-choice. This meme is showing the boy trying to attack their father so he can have his mom all to himself.
